Carbon Digital have been awarded seed funding by Creative England’s ‘New Ideas Fund’ initiative.
The funding will help deliver an Augmented Reality prototype demonstrating the mechanics of the technology alongside VOD content.
The company is already in discussion with international commissioners interested in the concept which will be ready to pitch at MIP.com in October.
MD, Sue McHugh commented, ‘Our ambition is to continue to build on our reputation for providing both creative AR solutions as well as offering an, off-the-shelf service applicable across multiple genres’.
“The New Ideas Fund exists to allow ambitious entrepreneurs working in moving image for storytelling to try something different. Carbon Digital have the opportunity to bring a product to life that will fully immerse their audiences in the content that they produce, we’re excited to see how it develops.” Haley Edwards, Creative Enterprise Programme Manager
The technology prototype is set to be launched at MIPTV in the autumn and will likely be presented through the newly launched MIPCOM Online + experience.
