Share Somewhere is the website connecting people with spaces. Our aim is to liberate underused spaces and make it easy for people to find affordable spaces to do great things in their communities.
Founded in Manchester, Share Somewhere began as the ‘Airbnb for Scout Huts’, a creation of Youth United Foundation, the national charity set up by HRH The Prince of Wales, to get uniformed youth organisations to work together.
Share Somewhere has been made possible by a National Youth Social Action Fund grant, funded by Pears Foundation and a ShareLab grant funded by Nesta.
What We Offer
Share Somewhere is open to everyone and free to use.
People looking for a space can search or submit a request.
Anyone with a bit of space to share can list their space, from venues, schools, community centres and religious building to businesses with CSR targets.
We are keen to support people who want to open up their space for the first time and welcome enquiries.
What We’re Looking For
More than anything we want people to use our website! Register new spaces (yes – that empty meeting room next door) and to help us spread the word.
We want to create partnerships that will encourage more people to share spaces such as insurers, property services, guest management and funders of community spaces.
We would also love to have someone from a property background to join our steering group.
